#5 Beer Spot of Colorado Springs: Another Pint

Tucked away in a northern Colorado Springs residential community across the highway from the Airforce Academy resides Another Pint (formally A Second Cup). Few people who drive by this place know that what lies inside this stripmall corner complex is a beer drinkers paradise of draft and bottled craft beer. Under the new ownership of Tony and Stephanie Hockemeyer, Tony promises to make Another Pint one of the best beer bars in all of Colorado in the years to come.

The Beer: Another Pint has one of the most impressive draft lineups in Colorado Springs. They currently have around 25-30 taps and are looking to expand to more in the upcoming months. The beer ranges from Colorado standards such as Ska Modus Hoperandi and Decadent, Odell Mycenary, and Left Hand Milk Stout to rare Colorado and Out of state offerings like Dogfish Head 120 Minute and The Bruery Autumn Maple. The beers are well-priced. Tony also seems to find some kegs of beer that only makes it to one or two places in the state! There is also a small bottle list with some reasonably priced options. Another Pint has also started hosting Meet the Brewer nights where a brewer stops by with a few of his beers and meets with the customers to answer any questions they might have. So far Chad Yakobson from Crooked Stave and John Schneider from Black Fox have made appearances with Oskar Blues on deck.

The Food: Another Pint has a full service kitchen. Offerings include burgers, sandwiches, wraps, typical appetizers, and breakfast favorites. Another Pint has had a long history of hosting beer dinners every month, and Tony is ready to push the envelope on these great dinners. The dinners are typically 5 courses with each course paired with a beer. The events are typically all you can drink and are reasonably priced at around $40. The last dinner was with Maui Brewing Company, and it was fantastic!
Atmosphere: Another Pint has a small area for tables and booths as well as a medium sized bar. There is an outdoor patio that overlooks the mountains and is an excellent choice on warmer days. The walls have a slight identity crisis and are littered with beer signs, neons, framed pictures, and sports memorabilia. Another Pint, however, is in the works for an overhall. Already since Tony's taken over, the place feels a little cozier, a little more like a taphouse and less like a diner, with more bottles on shelves and more brewery signs hanging on the walls. The plan for the near future is to tear down the eastern wall and expand into the empty space next door, which they are already using for storage. The bar will expand and they'll add a small stage for live music acts.

Overall: Another Pint is a great destination for beer drinkers looking for the complete package of great food, a impressive lineup of beer, and fun beer related events. Great changes have happened to this place in the last couple of months, and there are many exciting plans and changes for the future. Don't hesitate to drive a few extra miles and check out this great place.
