Local Sponsorship
Six months ago we announced that we were going to start taking advertisements on the blog. The ads were to be hand-selected businesses we already support and believe in. We heard overwhelmingly positive feedback from you because you liked that they were local and purposefully selected. We've had a few new places join on, so I want to point them out and remind you all that we have a small but growing community of craft-beer places around town. Please check out the folks that advertise with us, because we pick our advertisers, you can know that we also think highly of them. I'm including their links below, but they've also got little ad spots on our side-column. Cheers!
New sponsors:
The Blue Star - We've noticed this place is really doing some great stuff with craft beer. They have a good amount of beer on tap and a pretty delicious bottle list with hard-to-find beer. They've been putting on totally killer beer dinners as well. My favorite part is that on Thursday they have 1/2-off anything on their bottle list! Yeah, the barrel aged Avery beer, the awesome Funkerks...half off on Thursday. Awesome.
Pikes Peak Brewing - PPBC is located in Monument and is totally worth the drive. They're just over a year old at this point but they have really knocked the ball out of the park with great beer. They have something for everyone, the beers are all solid, maintain good complexity and balanced with drinkability. They're big community supporters and keep themselves really busy. Things have gone so well they'll be expanding soon.
Continuing Sponsorship:
Phantom Canyon Brewing - We think brewers Alan Stiles and Mike Dee are doing a fantastic job at Phantom. They are committed to offering a number of special beers at all times, and I really appreciate that they continually brew up British beers that have disappeared, such as the recent 1942 Burton Ale.
Coaltrain Wine and Liquor - The best selection of craft beer in town. Lots of stuff from Colorado, all over the country, and a good selection of imports from Belgium, Norway, and others. They'll always have something for you and there's always knowledgeable staff there who can help you find what you're looking for.
Weber Street Liquor - A growing selection of great beer. What started on a couple shelves has now become two full aisles. They have much of the six-packs and an impressive and increasing amount of specialty and hard to find beers.
Trinity Brewing - A great spot for local food and beer. Trinity makes over 30 different Saisons a year and it's a real treat to have a brewery in town dedicated to this level of experimentation. The specialty bottles are top notch, ranging from Sours to Saisons to 2IPAs. The house 2IPA is awesome. If you want to branch out they have a large selection of beer from around the country as well.
Front Range BBQ - Awesome BBQ and a great craft beer list. They pour twelve constantly rotating beers with something for everyone. Often there are a few specialty and hard-to-find beers on tap. The bottle list is impressive as well and reasonably priced. The place is super fun when music is playing as well. Our favorite night is Wednesday night. FRBBQ is hosting the Meet the Brewer series now too.
