The Wild Goose Meeting House Preview

Downtown Colorado Springs has a new craft beer, wine, and coffee joint. The Wild Goose Meeting House is set for their Grand Opening this Black Friday at 401 N. Tejon St. While south downtown has been having a flourish of new activity with Ivywild School and Urban Steam now serving craft beer, the north end of downtown is quietly staking it's claim. Being only a block from my work, I had to go see what the buzz is about.

Armed with 12 taps, The Wild Goose, the brainchild of Russ Ware and Yemi Mobolade, is planning on having many local favorites on tap, with some occasional rarities in bottles and on draught. At the moment, they have a selection of Ska BrewingPikes Peak Brewing, Bristol Brewing, Left Hand, Boulder, Upslope and River North.Russ, the "beer side" of the partnership, tells me New Belgium is coming in tomorrow. There is still plenty of work to be done, with boxes and product still sitting out, but there is a very lively vibe; these guys have a ton of passion for what they do! They are still working on finalizing their food menu, but a complete offering should available at the grand opening. Russ, adorned with his apron, informed me that each day of their "soft opening," they kept adding new items to the menu to test the reaction.

Back to the beer, Russ and Yemi want to offer a bottle list as well, but couldn't say how extensive it may be, because of space limitations. Having a one stop coffee-wine-craft beer spot means everything has to work in a small space. This is evident from their Winechiller wine draft system, their hidden, under-the-counter espresso machines, and slick draft system. Everything is stainless, and really clean looking. Even with the limitation in space, the place has a very open feel, and had nice acoustics.

The Wild Goose Meeting house will be hosting their Grand Opening this Friday, November 29. They'll open at 7am for normal coffee service, and will be open throughout the day. They have live music set up for both Friday and Saturday night with local favorites Mango fan Django playing the opening, and Mike Clark joining the festivities on Saturday. If you need an excuse to get away from the in-laws or relatives, this could be the perfect spot for you!The Wild Goose Meeting House401 N.
