Local craft beer gift guide

There's twenty days until that jolly old elf squeezes himself down your chimney to creepily leave anonymous gifts under the highly-flammable piece of nature that you unabashedly decided to stick in the corner of your living room and throw little trinkets all over. Chances are, someone you're buying gifts for likes craft beer, and hopefully if you're reading this, you do too! We could give you links to hundreds of things you could order from lands far away, but instead here's a few things every beer lover in Colorado Springs would love to find under the tree.[divider]The Springs Brew Tour[/divider]

Does your beer lover also enjoy great food? If they're human, they probably do. There's a local group who has been putting on excellent food tours in downtown and Manitou Springs, and they've recently started doing brew tours. Colorado Springs Food Tours has a couple upcoming dates for their Springs Brew Tour, from just a few days after Christmas to the end of February (head start on Valentines anyone?). Tours include stops at multiple breweries, complete with tastings, food pairings and more!

What's better than Penrose Reserve and a fire?

If you're not one for crowds, and would rather sit by the fire and enjoy a great beer away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, then you really should ask for a gift set from Pikes Peak Brewing. The crew up in Monument has really given us something to want this holiday season. Pairing their Penrose Reserve series with two belgian tulip-style logo snifters, this is the perfect gift to give if you want a little in return! And, if that wasn't enough, there's more!Have you seen their sweet new tap handles all over town?Does your kegerator need a little love this winter?Dress it up with your very own Pikes Peak tap handle. You can even pick your favorite PPBC beer!(I'm partial to Little London because it matches my eyes...) Sadly, beer is not included...but you should head up to their tap room for their seasonal Bear Creek Porter and stock up!

[divider]Phantom Canyon Brewing Co.[/divider]

Next up on our list is practically anything from Phantom Canyon. You probably got a chance to enjoy our long lasting "summer" weather that lasted into November on their brand new patio, but don't forget them now that the weather has turned arctic! They've just released Winston Smith's, their Jack Daniels-barrel aged barleywine, and at 10.6% ABV it's definitely a lock to warm some stomachs this winter. It's always one of our favorites, so don't be shocked if you see us in line before and after you to get some! Also, if you're looking for a sweet place to relax after work, their happy hour deals are some of the best in town!
