A Paradox St. Patrick's Day at The Goose

Among all the St. Paddy's day celebrations, we decided to stop by The Wild Goose Meeting House's cask tapping of Paradox Beer Company's The Cherished. As a part of the Low Hanging Fruit series, this beer tastes very reminiscent to a kriek in our opinion, with pronounced cherry and burgundy wine notes and an overall port-like character to the finish. Based on a German style, Paradox used German malts and added cooked-down cherries then aged it in wine barrels. As with all beers that undergo their proprietary Paradox Fermentation, this one will gain a level of tartness that will make this a completely different beer in the months to come. Here's some pictures from the event, but look for this in stores near the end of the month.IMG_0604As people waited for the tapping, they sampled many of the great beers The Wild Goose has on tap.IMG_0612The first twelve lucky fans got to take home a nice Paradox Beer Company belgian glass!IMG_0614Thanks to Russ, Yemi and everyone at Paradox Beer Company for hosting a great event! The Wild Goose Meeting House is quickly becoming a great craft beer hotspot for Colorado Springs. If you haven't been in, check them out, or check out our preview.
