Drink Local: Events May 12-19

Phew, Colorado Springs Craft Week was amazing! Congratulations to everyone who participated in any or all of the events. We still feel like we need a couple straight days of sleep to catch up!We've already had some awesome tappings and a beer dinner in the first week of May, and the rest of the month is certainly going to keep up the action. This week, we've got home-brew club meeting, beer releases and a super cool beer dinner. As things come up we'll add them to the calendar!

May 13th

The May meeting for the Brew Brothers of Pikes Peak will be at Nano 108. If you're interested in homebrewing, join them at Nano 108 Brewing Company for the next member's meeting. They'll be judging the club entries for the mini Pro-Am that evening, and it should be a good time! Check out their website for membership options!

Imperial IPA release at Bristol Brewing, 5pmWe’ll be saluting American Craft Beer Week with the release of this ultra-hoppy, US-born beer style, part of our Brewhouse Series. Citrusy, pungent and robust, our Imperial IPA is a treat for the hop loyal that has just a bit more finesse than the popular but typically palate-crushing American IPA. So come for the beer, stay for the merriment and the live music from John Stone, and even try your hand at our soon-to-be-famous Hop Challenge.

Fossil Brewing Co. Mokaya Chocolate Blond collaboration with Lofty Brewing Co. and Radiantly Raw at Brewer's Republic, 5pmIf you missed out on the Crafters' Festival, this beer was one of the better collaborations we tasted! Definitely put this on your calendar!

The Beer Dinners – 6pmSome of you may remember a few years back, the Secret Supper Society of Colorado Springs hosted a very similar event for Cinco de Mayo. They brought fun to downtown, when it was lacking. This time, it's not so secret, but just as awesome. With five expertly paired courses to go with five custom brewed beers, the night is sure to please all tastes. What's not to like about Bourbon Barrel-aged Pecan Porter or an Earl Grey IPA? Anyways, tickets are 50 bones, and the way that beer dinner tickets are going these days, you're crazy to wait until the last minute. The deets:

ONE :: Blue Monday Lavender Wheat // Marinated Heirloom Tomatoes, Bitter Green Salad, Bleu Cheese, Sherry Vinaigrette

TWO :: Fools Gold Earl Grey IPA // Tea-Smoked Duck, Roasted Garlic and Pine Nut Puree, Spicy Cauliflower

THREE :: Harnold Palmer Lemon Wine with Tea // Melon Melange, Prosciutto, Sundried Tomato, Basil

FOUR :: Bad Luck Table Saison // Hanger Steak, Curried Lentils, Honey Roasted Carrots, Shallot Jus

FIVE :: Southern Drawl Bourbon Barrel Aged Pecan Porter // Espresso Chocolate Bread Pudding, Baked Apple, Nutmeg Caramel

We're into Beer Festival Season now, so we'll start listing all the upcoming festivals on their own separate page. Look next to the Upcoming Events tab for the new page.
