Smiling Toad Moves West

Last night marked the final night Smiling Toad Brewery poured pints from their E. Bijou location. The place was rightfully packed, with lots of familiar faces from the Brew Brothers of Pikes Peak and Ute Pass Brewing, as well as some brand new Toad fans. It was a fitting tribute to the local neighborhood feeling that drives Smiling Toad, and I'm sure the new place will feel very much the same. They finish up the move today, with only a few kegs and odds and ends to move across town.Tomorrow, Smiling Toad Brewery will open for the first time in the Broad Market Square at 1757 S 8th St. I had a chance to stop in when they were busy completing their buildout, and I was amazed at the size of the space. For being Colorado's smallest brewery this is a huge change, effectively catapulting them to the 9th biggest brewery in Colorado Springs after the move. The new space, while unassuming from the outside, is triple the size of the old location and will help house their new three-barrel brewhouse, albeit used temporarily by Red Leg Brewing on loan. They're hoping to have up to 10 beers on tap Friday, so plan on stopping by!Photo courtesy of Smiling Toad BreweryWe wish Biff and everyone at Smiling Toad the best, and can't wait to grab a pint in the new place! Here's their new address for those who like maps:
