Iron Bird Brewing Celebrates First Anniversary
Summer is the time of brewery openings, and in turn, it becomes the time for anniversary celebrations. This Saturday, Iron Bird Brewing will be celebrating their first anniversary. While their actual anniversary date was Sunday the 16th, they opted to hold it a week later to allow for more partying. Good call guys!
Beer, beer and more beer
To quench your thirst, Iron Bird will have 10 beers on tap and 4 additional beers on cask, with many of their popular offerings available. I also heard word of a special Meridian hopped beer on tap. If you're not familiar with Meridian hops, it's probably because they're a fairly new strain, originally thought to be related to Willamette hops, but with flavors that evoke lemon citrus, berries and tropical fruit. Should be delicious! Here's where it gets interesting: At 2pm, they'll be tapping a rye whiskey barrel aged Belgian-style dubbel and will also have an oak aged imperial amber on cask. These are Iron Bird's first barrel-aging projects, and, based on what I've heard from their staff, will make us clamor for more.
Munchies
Well, Iron Bird hasn't quite finished their restaurant add-on, but they'll have free pulled pork from 4-7 or until it lasts. Just make sure you get a food ticket when you get there! Speaking of tickets, there will be giveaway tickets handed out for each pint purchased, and they'll be doing some prize drawings throughout the afternoon! So if you're looking for something cool to do on Saturday, head on over to Iron Bird for some limited release tappings and to wish them well on their second year!
