Lost among the Foeders in Fort Collins

A few weekends ago, we ventured up the front range to Fort Collins for New Belgium Brewing's Lost in the Woods sour beer release event. If you've never been, it truly is a bucket list item for any craft beer lover. This year, Lost in the Woods paid homage to David Bowie, in a way, with a space age, 80's dance party theme. Black lights, fog and a full on laser show filled their "Foeder forest." Brewery employees were seen in outfits ranging from flashy to astronaut. There were even a few people in bear costumes running around, as would be expected in any forest. With all the crazy light shows and dance music, we found time to take a few photos:LOST-in-the-woods-2016-22LOST-in-the-woods-2016-21LOST-in-the-woods-2016-19LOST-in-the-woods-2016-17LOST-in-the-woods-2016-14LOST-in-the-woods-2016-13LOST-in-the-woods-2016-12LOST-in-the-woods-2016-10LOST-in-the-woods-2016-7LOST-in-the-woods-2016-5LOST-in-the-woods-2016-4 While the glitz may distract some, we were there for a purpose: La Folie. The yearly release of New Belgium's prized sour beer always attracts a big crowd, but this year was bigger than we remember. According to an employee we ran into, they sold 850 tickets to Lost in the Woods. The place was packed!LOST-in-the-woods-2016-2Our favorite beers from the night, surprisingly enough, weren't La Folie or Transatlantic Kriek. We continuously ordered their Orange Creamsicle(which tastes exactly as it sounds), Cherry Loves Felix and Apple Loves Oscar(our favorite of the night). All in all it was an incredible night, and if you ever get a chance to go to next year's celebration, don't hesistate, it won't disappoint. Thanks to Bryan from New Belgium for hosting us this year, we look forward to next year!
