Brewlanthropy: March 2018

The brewery scene is no stranger to raising money, and we're going to start our new monthly series Brewlanthropy in an effort to shine a light on the breweries who are giving back.Everyone knows that Bristol does Karma hour, but did you know they're not alone? You probably did, because you're out there as much as we are. In the off chance you didn't, check out these fundraising nights at local breweries and help give back as you drink your next pint. If we missed your brewery's event, let us know and we'll add it!

Weekly on Tuesdays:

Bristol Brewing Karma Hour - $1 from each pint goes to the charity of the week

March 6: Homeward Pikes Peak

The mission of Homeward Pikes Peak is to work with individuals and their families to achieve their full potential in recovery and move towards permanent housing.

March 13: Ivywild Improvement Society

Help fund your neighborhood organization so we can continue to bring the Ivywild neighborhood clean-ups, picnics, senior programs, and more!

March 20: Bike Clinic Too

Bike Clinic Too is a community effort to take unused bikes and bike parts and put together bicycles for homeless or low income people who need transportation to find jobs and keep appointments.

March 27: American Cancer Society, Pikes Peak Chapter

American Cancer Society, Pikes Peak Chapter is on a mission to free the world from cancer. We are busy raising funds that will be used for funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about cancer prevention.

March 6: Heart on a Mission

Heart on a Mission, Inc’s (HOAM) mission is to build a more connected military community through the power of servant leadership. HOAM provides military families with the opportunity to Connect, Serve, Move, and Encourage. It is through these core values that HOAM promotes inclusive and encouraging mental and physical health and wellness.

March 13: Colorado Springs American Heart Association

Since 1924, they have been a part of the community, working in local schools, hospitals, community centers and city hall to provide critical research dollars and educational and outreach programs. To help prevent, treat and defeat these diseases — America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers — they fund cutting-edge research, conduct lifesaving public and professional educational programs, and advocate to protect public health.

March 20: Palmer Land Trust

The mission of Palmer Land Trust is to protect southern Colorado lands for present and future generations. They work to guarantee our public opens spaces, beautiful views and working farms and ranches exist forever. Since their founding in 1977 they have helped conserve more than 106,000 acres and 17 public parks and open spaces by working with cities, counties, private landowners and more.

March 27: One Nation Walking Together

One Nation Walking Together (ONWT) is a Colorado Springs-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, striving to make a positive impact in the lives of Native Americans by providing hope and services to Native communities living in third-world poverty. Currently operating in eight Western states including Colorado, we load 53-foot semi-trucks with the daily necessities of life such as food, clothing, bedding, hygiene products, school supplies etc., and we ship them to the various communities we serve.

March 6: Storybook Pints For Pups

Join Storybook Brewing for a fun night to help save dogs. Storybook will donate $1 to the National Mill Dog Rescue for every pint sold.

March 7 - UpaDowna's monthly #DwnaBeer FUNdraiser: Red Leg Brewing

This month’s #DwnaBeer FUNdraiser is taking place at Red Leg Brewing Company! $1/beer is donated back to UpaDowna to help them fund their community programs. In 2018, UpaDowna is bringing you some more UpaMtn DownaBeer events! All events will benefit UpaDowna in some way, shape, or form and we hope you can join them for a celebration of adventure, cold beer, and FUNdraising!

March 24 - Jaks Brewing Company: Falcon Community Fundraiser In Support of Team Alysha!

JAKs Brewing Company will be donating $1 from every beer sold all day long.Alysha was born with Biliary Atresia. This is a disease that affects the liver and she was born with no bile ducts. She underwent two surgeries at 2 months old to create a bile duct from a piece of her intestine. Unfortunately this is a progressive disease that in most cases a liver transplant is necessary.Alysha is eight years old now and it has come to her needing a life saving liver transplant. She is scheduled to receive this amazing gift from a total stranger with live donation. She will get a portion of the donors liver that will regenerate.Her family has organized a site with a non profit organization that has helped families for over 30 years to raise funds that go towards transplant related expenses.
