FH Beerworks Turns Four this Saturday

FH Beerworks, the brewery formerly known as Fieldhouse, will turn four today starting at noon. If you know the Fields, you know they're not ones to celebrate lightly. They have a day full of beer releases, food and music, so head downtown! In the spirit of anniversaries, we asked Niki and Travis Fields for four tidbits of knowledge they would tell themselves if they could travel back in time to when they were just starting out. For those of you either just starting out with your brewery, or on the cusp of starting, take these into consideration!

  1. Put the right team together from the start. We did everything ourselves for the first year or so. Now we have the right team in place and it has made a big difference in every way!
  2. Give yourself more room to grow! We ran out of room on day one. More storage is everything.
  3. Remember to enjoy the ride. Sometimes we get so caught up in the details of the business, that we forget why we got into this business in the first place! The community and industry we are in is so amazing.
  4. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it! We have started a family, lost loved ones, and had to learn a whole new world of business on this journey. It’s not easy, but anything worth doing rarely is.

Here's what you can expect from today's events:

Right off the bat at Noon, they'll do a double release of their Good Day IPA and Don't Drink the Juice, both in cans and on tap. Don't Drink the Juice is their Hazy Tangerine Pale, which will be the latest addition to their new flagship line of cans. Then, at 2pm, the barrel-aged goodness starts. FH will release a Cockpit Craft bourbon barrel-aged version of their fan-favorite Caramel Macchiato Stout that was finished on Switchback Coffee, but you'll have to be there to try it, as they're limiting it to pours only with no growler fills. We're expecting it to go fast.If that wasn't enough, look out for their barrel-aged dry hopped sour to drop at 4pm. This dry hopped kettle sour was brewed with lemon drop and zythos hops, aged in a buffalo trace bourbon barrel for 6 months, and then barrel hopped with citra and galaxy. As we hit the dinner hour, FH will release an old fashioned cream ale and further into the evening look out for Extra Thicc, an anniversary-special NE IPA.
