Ska Brewing steps up to the frontline with Moral Panic, a new year-round Brut IPA

Ska Brewing Company in Durango, Colorado, debuts Moral Panic, a brut IPA, in 12-ounce cans at the brewery on Friday, November 30, at 5 p.m. and follows up with distribution in all 12 eligible states on Friday, December 7, in six-packs and at select draft accounts. This refreshing, dry IPA satisfies a longtime urge of Dave Thibodeau, co-founder and CEO at Ska Brewing Co., to name a beer "Moral Panic" which he likens after the sociological definition as, "the process of arousing social concern over an issue, legitimate or not."“On one hand we may be referring to Mods & Rockers, satanism or Dungeons & Dragons, or the haze craze," says Thibodeau. "No matter what comes of the brut IPA style, we certainly are enjoying drinking it right now.”

Don't fear the beer.Ska Brewing says Moral Panic offers a tropical nose courtesy of galaxy and citra hops and registers as easy drinking, at only 5.7 percent ABV (alcohol by volume).“We’re excited about this emerging brut category because these beers are everything we love about IPA without any lingering bitterness, which makes them super approachable,” says Thibodeau.Ska’s brewers developed the brut IPA recipe on their small batch, Mod pilot system, and says they are excited to elevate it to a larger-scale, packaged beer As the producer of one of the country’s original canned IPAs, Modus Hoperandi, Ska crafts numerous different styles of IPAs and takes a step forward for this emerging trend that we too are ecstatic to see gain more notoriety. On Friday, December 7, Ska releases Moral Panic at Tap XIV Uptown in Denver, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday, December 8, at Tap Traders in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
