Celebrate the Return of Genius Wizard with Ratio Beerworks

My first Focus on the Beer article started at Ratio Beerworks. I loved it then, and I still love it.I had a chance this past week to sit down with Jason, Ratio's owner/brewer, and we dug into a vertical of Genius Wizard. We wanted to see the progression of the beer through the years and explore how it evolved over the years. Jason was kind enough to even open a bottle of the 2018 Coconut Genius Wizard to taste against the years.https://www.facebook.com/ratiobeerworks/videos/323237688511193/The video explains quite a bit, and you’ll even get a rundown of what you’ll see and taste (if you hurry and get tickets) to this Saturday’s 2018 Genius Wizard release. You can even win a 1.5L magnum of BA Genius Wizard. We’ll be there and hope to see you as well.Buy Tickets

Press Release:

Ratio Beerworks Celebrates the Return of Genius Wizard Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Variant Release Party and Immersive Art Experience

Ratio Beerworks is excited to announce the return of Genius Wizard Imperial Stout, as well as Genius Wizard Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout on December 8, 2018. This hefty 11.5% stout is brewed with a copious amount of base malt, specialty grains with the addition of molasses. Genius Wizard was the first beer brewed on Ratio's 20 barrel system when the brewery launched in 2015, however that first batch immediately went into bourbon barrels to age for 12 months. This December will be the fourth time this viscous, roasty, chocolatey, barrel-forward beast is released alongside its 12-month Bourbon Barrel-aged edition. Genius Wizard and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Genius Wizard will both be available on draft, with a limited bottle release of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Genius Wizard taking place at Noon on Saturday, December 8. In celebration of this year’s release, Ratio will once again be hosting an intimate tasting experience from 5-8pm on Saturday, December 8. Attendees will be transported to a mystical new dimension, as Ratio's back brewhouse will be transformed into an ethereal immersive art experience. This year’s installation will also give attendees a sneak peek into the soon to be unveiled world of Zabiti: An Immersive Circus Adventure, designed by local Denver artists from Rainbow Militia and Unbuilt Library. Attendees will have the first chance to enjoy this year's rendition of Genius Wizard along with several variant expressions on that beer including Chocolate Orange, Coconut Vanilla, Espresso, Chai, and 24-month barrel-aged Genius Wizard Grand Cru. Additionally, we've teamed up with some of Denver's best local food purveyors to provide small bites to pair with the beer. This year’s food purveyors include BBQ Supply Co., Cirque Kitchen, and Bamboo Sushi.
