Back into the Swing of Things

The Colorado Springs beer scene has taken a couple of hits this week with the announcements of the imminent closure of Batch Slapped Brewery/Cidery in July and the sudden announcement and closure of Red Swing Brewhouse on Thursday, but we’re happy to report on something that adds a silver lining to both these events.

Urban Animal has announced that they have signed an agreement to acquire the assets and location of Red Swing Brewing and will begin the process of rebranding and remodeling that downtown space shortly. In addition, they are bringing on Jordan Oswald, head brewer from Batch Slapped. This consolidation of talent and expansion of locations is the best possible outcome of the two recently announced closures. We’re excited to see where this new venture goes - giving Urban Animal a downtown foothold and bringing in the creativity of Jordan is an additional bonus.
