Bristol Brewing Refreshes Their Barrel Room

The Barrel Room at Bristol Brewing has always been that extra space, where storage sometimes overrode functionality, but that’s not the case any longer.

Bristol’s Barrel Room has played host to staff meetings, a church, the food at firkin, and aptly—barrels, though that’s all changing. Gone are the active barrel aging stacks of oak, replaced with a shiny stainless bar top for standing guests. The bar is still there, if you remember it, but they’ve added in X taps hung before a glass-block facade, harkening back to the days across Tejon in their old space.

The Barrel Room now feels more intentional, more like a space where drinkers can escape the hustle and bustle of the upstairs Pub, so there’s more ability to “focus on the beer” (pun intended). To kick things off, in lieu of Bristol’s annual Prohibition Party, Saturday April 3rd, they’ll be releasing Yellow Kite with a bit of a prohibition-era-style deal. If you buy the souvenir glass for 8 bucks, all of your refills will be 33¢ for the rest of the night.

Along with the Barrel Room space, starting tomorrow Bristol will open up their Beer Garden out in the front grounds, so don’t worry about social distancing in the smaller Barrel Room space. Thanks to recently approved licensing, you can take your beer from the bar anywhere around the building, and out into the Beer Garden. No more “traffic cops” stopping your wine drinking friends from enjoying a spot in the pub.

If you get a chance, head over to Bristol to check out the new Barrel Room and Beer Garden…you may see us there!
