How to Drink During a Pandemic

Covid-19 is here in Colorado, and since we are all experiencing lockdown in our own ways, we figured it was time to share some tips on drinking during the pandemic.

  1. Stock up! Avoid the crowds at the Grocery Stores and head to your local mom and pop shop. Many of those stores have expressed their commitment to keeping things clean and sanitized, but we still recommend keeping your stay short. Get in and get out if you’re buying beer at the store.

  2. Pop those bottles! If you’re like us, you have a plethora of beers you’ve been saving for the end of days. Now is a great time to see how that 2006 Dogfish Fort is holding up, or pop open a bottle of Paradox’s Red White and Blue series if you still have some.

  3. Drink more whiskey. Yeah, it’s not beer, but as long as you drink anything that’s closer to 60% alcohol by volume, you can have your drink double as hand sanitizer. Though we recommend some cheap everclear for that purpose…save the good stuff. Plus, you can grab to-go from many local distilleries, too!

  4. Support your local brewery or taproom. With the shutdown, breweries and taprooms are doing fractions of the business they normally do. most are offering delivery or curbside pickup. Check out our list here: COVID Shutdown List

  5. Join our Virtual Bottle Shares! Each week, we recommend different breweries from around town, but this is just a good way to get some face time with the other craft beer fans in your community—even when in lockdown. Starting next Tuesday, we will be hosting additional Cellar Show and Tell shares, providing a chance to show off that beer you’ve been saving for a rainy day. Join tonight’s share, or check out the livestream if you’re afraid to get on screen.
