Telluride Blues and Brews Puts on the Best Show

A little over a month ago, we made the trek over to the Western Slope for the Telluride Blues and Brews festival. It’s a trip of which we’ve grown fond, and for good reason. Not only does Blues and Brews bring in some of the most talented musicians for a weekend high up in the Rockies, they host some of the nation’s best breweries for a festival that shouldn’t be missed.

Telluride Blues and Brews transforms Town Park in Telluride into a festival wonderland for 4 days each September. We always opt to set up camp with our Steamworks Brewing friends on the softball field, though the real party is out in the woods with campers strewn out among the aspens.

What started as 18 breweries creating the “Telluride Brewers Festival” in 1994 has easily become one of the better craft beer festivals in the country with 56 breweries from Colorado and beyond.

Thanks also in part to their strategic partnership with Sierra Nevada, Blues and Brews has been able to keep craft beer as an integral part of the overall festival experience for all attendees.

As a three day music festival, it would seem that the focus is on the music (see what we did there), but in the history of the festival, beer has remained in the spotlight. That’s also not to say the music has been lacking, on the contrary actually. I’ve been lucky to see some of the greats I was raised on, with this year’s John Fogerty of CCR and George Clinton putting the icing on the cake.

And so, we give you our photo recap for the Grand Tasting. Enjoy!

We implore you to keep September 18-20 wide open on your 2020 calendars. It’s well worth the trip.
