Call to Arms Brewing Announces Month-Long “Big Pride Energy” Celebration
DENVER, CO (May 8) -
All rainbow roads lead to Call to Arms Brewing this June!
After filling every inch of its taproom with holiday cheer during December’s “Big Holiday Energy” pop-up, Call to Arms Brewing is rolling out the rainbow carpet, drapes, and disco balls for a month-long “Big Pride Energy” taproom pop-up.
The Denver-based brewery, which has hosted various iterations of its Pride Parade on Tennyson Street since 2019, is now amplifying its celebration of the LGBTQ+ community with a month of queer-focused programming and a full transformation of its taproom with pride-centric decor to match.
“Call to Arms has always been firmly committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community locally and afar,” explains Chris Bell, founder of Call to Arms Brewing. “While it’s a cause that we support on a daily basis, we’re extremely excited to bring an event with greater focus and support of such a vibrant community this year throughout the entire month of June.”
Big Pride Energy will include everything from a Queer Market featuring all LGBTQ+ owned vendors on Saturday, June 3 to a host of Drag-centric events like a pair of Drag Trivia nights, a Drag King show, and even a Rescue Puppy Drag Show… your eyes don’t deceive you, can you think of anything more spectacular than dogs dressing in drag?
The month of programming will also be highlighted by two larger signature events including the brewery’s Big Gay Beer Day, Denver’s Most Trans-parent Beer Festival on June 10 which aims to be fully transparent in showcasing the incredible transgender affirming organizations the festival will be supporting, and the return of CtA’s Pride Fest Parade to cap off the month on June 24.
Big Gay Beer Day welcomes 10 ally breweries to CtA for a ticketed mini beer festival on Saturday, June 10 with 100% of the proceeds directly donated to the Transformative Freedom Fund. Participating breweries include The Empourium, Bierstadt Lagerhaus, Cerebral Brewing,
Jagged Mountain, Ratio Beerworks, Diebolt Brewing, Lady Justice Brewing, Cannonball Creek, Westbound & Down, and Goldspot Brewing. Tickets will be available soon.
And finally, the Call to Arms team will close out the month with a bang by returning its celebrated Pride Parade on June 24. The event kicks off at Noon and will once again feature participation from partner Denver-area breweries and welcomes the general public to join in marching down Tennyson Street starting from Highlands Garden Village at the SW corner of 38th and Tennyson at 2pm. From there, the parade will proceed North down Tennyson before concluding at Call to Arms with a concert from Hey Lady, a B52’s Tribute Band.
Additionally, throughout the day on June 24, 10% of all beer sales will go toward supporting the Transformative Freedom Fund, a tremendous organization that provides holistic gender-affirming services to support transgender and gender-expansive individuals.
In addition to the month of Big Pride Energy programming Call to Arms welcomes the return of Narnia of Partya, a Kiwi Hefeweizen which will once again serve as the official Pride month beer.
Call to Arms Releasing Narnia of Partya, This Year’s Official Beer of Pride Fest
In advance of this year’s 2023 Pride Month celebrations, Call to Arms Brewing is excited to announce the release of “Narnia of Partya”, a Kiwi Hefeweizen which will serve as this year’s official beer for the brewery’s Pride Month fundraiser. In addition to 10% of all beer sales going to support The Transformative Freedom Fund during Pride Fest, 10% of sales from “Narnia of Partya” throughout the month of June will also be donated to The Transgender Center for the Rockies.
“Narnia of Partya” first made its debut during 2021’s Pride Month celebrations and was so popular that it received full distribution via the 16oz can format last year. “As a team, we really drinking Hefeweizens,” said Bell. “Playing off of the style’s natural banana esters, we decided to add kiwi to lend a tart fruit note, which makes this one an easy drinker!
