WeldWerks Brewing Co. Announces Invitational Pour List and Friday Tap Takeover
GREELEY, Colo. (June 9, 2022)- More than 40 esteemed craft breweries will be pouring 150+ beers from across the country at the WeldWerks Invitational on Saturday, June 25 at the DoubleTree at Lincoln Park (919 7th St, Greeley, CO 80631). Beer lovers can expect to sample highly sought-after and limited offerings such as DM (Derivation/Medianoche), a collaboration Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coconut and Vanilla Imperial Stout between Side Project Brewing and WeldWerks, Superstition Meadery’s Bunny Stacks, a Mead with blueberry, maple, cacao nibs and marshmallow fluff that’s aged in bourbon barrels, and Timbo Pils, a German Pilsner meets West Coast IPA collaboration between Amalgam Brewing and Highland Park Brewery that has developed quite the cult following.
The full pour list for the Invitational can be found below or on the Invitational website or Untappd.
“As always, our brewery friends brought their A-game to the Invitational,” says WeldWerks Head Brewer Skip Schwartz. “While the beer list has a nice mix of barrel-aged beers that’s become synonymous with the Invitational, this year we are seeing a lot of brewers flex their brewing prowess in the lager category. In fact, we’ll have more lagers at the Invitational this year than ever before.”
Tickets, which cost $110, are currently on sale and can be purchased via Eventbrite. Guests can choose between two sessions, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 100 percent of the proceeds from the Invitational will go towards local charities through the WeldWerks Community Foundation, the brewery’s charitable arm.
For those looking to get in on the excitement earlier, head over to Patrick’s Irish Pub and Brix Brew & Tap on Friday, June 24 for dual tap takeovers featuring additional beers from attending breweries of the Invitational. Check WeldWerks’ social media channels for more information.
“To be able to bring the best beer from some of the country’s best brewers to little ol’ Greeley is very surreal,” says Schwartz. “Especially after the two-year hiatus, I can’t put into words how much it means to us to have our brewery friends take the time and hang out with us and pour their wares. It’s going to feel like the most awesome family reunion.”

Less Info ▴The Taste of the Unknown Farmhouse Ale - Saison
Our love for low acid mixed culture beer is something that we're proud to showcase in our little beer program. We continue to learn that patience is a key ingredient in these beers, as just the keg conditioning process took 7 months to complete. Brewed with raw wheat, pilsner malt, some noble hops, and then fermented in our French Oak Foeder in early 2021 at our spot in Orange. The result is super soft on the palate, with the bitterness and acidity both restrained, and the stone fruit and funk being at a wonderfully complex level. Tasting notes? Things like orange flower water, nectarine flesh, Wheaties, and Pinkberry original.

Less Info ▴Luxury Stout - Imperial / Double
Luxury is a barrel aged imperial vanilla stout. While we've dabbled with using vanilla throughout a number of our different releases in the past, Luxury is our first foray into creating a barrel aged imperial stout with only vanilla and barrel. And we are quite pleased with the results. Luxury consists of imperial stout aged in a Heaven Hill Rye barrel blended with a couple Weller Wheated Bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts. For the vanilla addition we used the most vanilla we've ever used at close to 1lb/bbl, and formulated a thoughtful blend of three types of vanilla (Vanuatu, Comoros, and Uganda) that we think compliment each other really well, and give off notes of dark chocolate & burnt marshmallow.

Midnight Abundance Stout - Imperial / Double Pastry
Alright Everyone, this is the big one we've been waiting for. Get this, we started this beer by boiling a double mash (double the grains concentrated into a single beer) for 28 hours. TWENTY-EIGHT HOURS!!! We then started its barrel aging journey by racking the beer into Apple Brandy barrels. After 22 months, we transferred the liquid into extremely rare Thomas H. Handy Rye Whiskey barrels for an additional 15 months. After that, we treated Midnight Abundance with 1 lb per gallon of coconut and .5 lbs per bbl of Congolese vanilla beans. So let's recap...double mash, 28 hour boil, apple brandy barrels for 22 months, Handy barrels for 15 months, coconut, vanilla. Yeah, this will be hard to top.
Less Info ▴Moksa FOUR Stout - Imperial / Double
For our Fourth Anniversary we thought to ourselves, "How can we continue the series of non treated barrel aged anniversary beers but add a little twist?" The answer came to us quick, a Double Barrel Aged Stout. Moksa FOUR is an Imperial Stout that first was aged in a combo of 7-15 year old Bourbon barrels from Elijah Craig, Weller, and George T. Stagg for 14 months. It was then transferred to Parker's Heritage 11 year old Heavy Char Wheat Whiskey barrels for an additional 15 months before blending together prior to our fourth anniversary. This beer is crisp with a high carbonation and familiar lager esters from the yeast. The fruit forward hops add layers of pear, gala apples, Gewürztraminer grapes, and pomelos.

Less Info ▴Enchiridion Stout - Imperial / Double
Ready for something we’ve never done before? Presenting Enchiridion: a blend of single, double, and triple bourbon barrel-aged stouts. This reserve imperial stout was inspired by the process of making Lief, our Méthode Traditionelle - 3 year blend. Similarly, it's a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old beer. The difference is that Enchiridion is racked into a new barrel each year for maximum barrel impact: tannin, bourbon character, and long-term mellowing of the stout. Long-awaited bourbon complexity arises with aromas of crème brûlée, toasted oak, and wildflower honey, while flavors of flourless chocolate torte, fig, vanilla bean and lingering oak tannins delight the palate. Cheers to this silky and decadent celebration of bourbon barrels—perhaps the first of its kind.
Less Info ▴Roes Red W/ Cherries & Mulberries Sour - Flanders Red Ale
Presenting our very first fruited batch of Roes Red, our Flanders-style red ale. Inspired by the renowned Rodenbach Alexander beer of Belgium, this new batch features organic Washington dark tart cherries and organic Turkish black mulberries. It is also the second batch of Roes Red to age in Pure Carlsbad's 1,000-gallon Barolo cask from Italy. The result is a deep burgundy-colored ale with notes of cherry jam, mulberries, red wine sangria, and oak. The complexity of this beer is further driven by Winslow's proprietary blend of yeast strains—Belgian in origin—which produce sour lactic and acetic characteristics. A fruity twist on a classic style, Roes Red with cherries and mulberries is beautifully intricate and delightfully refreshing.

When tea is consumed in many cultures, there is a distinct ceremonial aspect to the event. We wanted to celebrate this act of ceremony with a mixed fermentation saison brewed with a portion of rice in the grain bill, that was then dry-hopped with a unique tea blend. For this beer, we used Boulder Blues from the Tea Spot in Boulder, Colorado. This handcrafted blend combines tea fine Japanese Sencha and Chinese Dragonwell for a smooth base with wild strawberries and rhubarb flavors for a subtle twist. Luxurious aroma and brisk, vivid flavor. Smooth like the blues. This brew was made in collaboration with the fine folks at Fermly Craft Beer Laboratory, who are a fantastic resource for all your analysis needs. We hope you dig it as much as we did making it. Cheers!

Less Info ▴DM (Blend #1) Stout - Imperial / Double
Bourbon Barrel Aged Rye Imperial Stout with Toasted and Raw Coconut and Vanilla Beans. DM falls somewhere between Derivation and Medianoche - an Imperial Stout that we had the pleasure of brewing with our friends at Weldwerks more than 2 years ago. We brewed this Rye Imperial Stout with a higher hopping rate for the rye and hops to play together, to offer a snappy backbone to the aging and decadent adjuncts we had planned on infusing this massive stout with. After aging for 28 months to 24 months in Weller 12yr and Rittenhouse Rye barrels, we blended to taste and infused the beer 4 times with raw and toasted coconut and then finished it with Mexican Vanilla Beans.
Less Info ▴Generational (Blend #1) Stout - Imperial / Double
Generational is our Barrel-Aged Stout collaboration with our dear friends at Half Acre Beer Company in Chicago Illinois. We have been huge fans of this brewery even before Side Project ever existed! To have the opportunity to spend the day with Gabe, Matt and Lee 2 years ago, brewing up this massive stout, was one of my favorite brew days to date. We merged aspects of our pinnacle stout recipes - Benthic for them (but without the adjunct addition) and O.W.K. for us (but without any vanilla bean addition). The result is an unadulterated, non-adjunct Barrel-Aged Stout that we felt best represented the collaboration of our creative minds and the quality we were striving for. This recipe was all malt - no oats! This was something that the Half Acre crew brought to the table and is very rare for the Side Project barrel collection. The result is so awesome that we want to brew this again and add it to our barrel repertoire for blending in future blends! We also loved how the base beer matured, and we didn't make the call to "non-adjunct" this final beer until it reached maturity. After 2 years in Buffalo Trace barrels, the blending began and we all agreed that the best way to showcase this beer with you was just as is.

Less Info ▴Double Dry Hopped Green Street IPA - New England / Hazy
In August of 2015, we released our first ever collaboration beer and the first of many with Brooklyn, NY's Other Half Brewing. An Obvious Pale Ale, Green Street was brewed with Sam on our original Fort Point brewhouse. Four years and many collabs later, we've decided to revisit and revamp this foundational recipe. Double Dry Hopped Green Street offers a complex melange of tropical and citrus fruit notes. Aromas of fresh-pressed orange juice, lemon zest, and candied pineapple jump out of the glass. A playful bubblegum characteristic washes over the back of the palate and modest bitterness begs for another sip. Both ourselves and Other Half have come a long way in the past four years. Double Dry Hopped Green Street is a wonderful example of all the things we've learned in the time since that original brew day.

As the glass opens, Simcoe shows its complexity, conjuring supporting notes of preserved peach, fresh pine needles, and a touch of tropical fruit salad. Medium-bodied with a fluffy mouthfeel, Blue Hill Ave finishes semi-dry with a mild and balanced bitterness.
