Beer Happenings This Weekend (starting 4/13/2012)

There's a number of craft beer things happening this weekend and I'd like to just point them out for you. The highlight is undoubtedly the Saison Festival, one of my favorite events of the year, although there are plenty of other options if you can't make it. Check it out:

Friday, April 13th

Meet the Brewer: Funkwerks
Fri. April 13th / 7pm
Another Pint / 13860 Gleneagle Dr. Colorado Springs
Pay Per Pint
Facebook Event Page

When we first started the Meet the Brewer series, Funkwerks was not distributed in Colorado Springs and they were on our priority list to get on the Meet the Brewer series. Funkwerks won our hearts at GABF in 2010, and again almost a year and a half ago at Vail Big Beer Fest. At the Saison Festival last year we said their Saison was the best straight saison at the festival, and definitely one of the best we've ever had. Beers available at this event: Saison, Alchemy, Belgian Stout, White, and Tropic King.

Saturday, April 14th

Saison & Farmhouse Ale Festival
Sat. April 14th / 11am
Trinity Brewing / 1466 Garden of the Gods Road
$30 advance / $35 at door (limited tickets)

Beers inspired by the Walloon region only. Possibly one of the most artistic and unique beer festivals of the year...not to mention lots of fun. A real Focus on the Beer favorite!

Special Cask Tapping
Sat. April 14th / 12pm
Bristol Brewing / 1647 South Tejon Street

Bristol has a one-of-a-kind IPA cask they'll be tapping at noon.

Meet the Brewer: Rocky Mountain Brewery
Sat. April 14th / 8pm
Rocky Mountain Brewery / 625 Paonia Street

If you've ever wanted to meet the guy behind the always popular Da Yoopers Cherry Pie beer from Rocky Mountain Brewery, now is your chance. Brewer Nick Hilborn will be available so you can hang out, ask questions, and get to know him a bit more. Plus RMB will have a full range of beers available for your enjoyment.
