Local Beer Happenings in the Near Future

Here's a few things to put onto your calendar if you want some special craft beer goodness.

Rocky Mountain Brewery Special Tapping
625 Paonia, Colorado Springs / $10 per sample tray.
Next week RMB is tapping the 8 beers they entered into the World Beer Cup, including the two that won silver and gold in the Fruit Beer category. Only 100 tickets available, and you have to get them this week. Get your tickets at the brewery.

Silver Mullet Tapping at Rock Bottom
Wednesday July 11 / 6pm
Rock Bottom COS / 3316 Cinema Point Dr.
As always, the first 30 minutes of the tapping you can drink the beer for free. Here's from the brewer: This year we decided to let the Silver Mullet fans NAME the SILVER MULLET MAN!  Be creative and come up with a short fan fiction story/poem/ramble about the man, the mullet and how he came to be. Come early with your Silver Mullet Fan fiction story for a chance to win some cool Silver Mullet schwag and we'll read the short story at the tapping!

Avery Special Tapping
Thursday July 12 / 5pm
At Trinity Brewing / 1466 Garden of the Gods Way
Trinity will tap some great Avery beers including Maharaja, Lilikoi Kepolo and Hand of Buddha as the special taps from the Brewery plus a few other Avery favorites. Some of these are normally only available at the Avery taproom in Boulder. Avery reps will be on site to answer questions, give stuff away and drink some beers with. Should be awesome.

Electric Cucumber Release Party
Friday July 13 / 5pm
At Trinity Brewing / 1466 Garden of the Gods Way
It's officially summer and that means cucumbers are just starting to come into harvest. Cool cukes are such a nice cooling summer treat, and we decided to make a summer Saison with them. Adding ~24lbs of English cucumbers per barrel, and a large amount of basil, this recipe is certain to become an epic summer time favorite. 5.8% ABV.

Brewer's Rendezvous - Beer Festival
Saturday July 14 / 1-5pm
Riverside Park in Salida / $35 at door
Said by many to be the best beer festival in Colorado, this year will see an unprecedented amount of participating brewers. Here's a bunch of information on the festival from an earlier post.

Jolly Pumpkin Beer Dinner

Thursday July 19 / 6:30pm / $65 +tax and gratuity
At The Blue Star / 1645 S. Tejon St. / RSVP 719-632-1086
I'm pretty surprised that there are still a few tickets left for this event. We're talking about multiple courses paired with 8 extraordinary beers from Jolly Pumpkin, the wild ales and barrel aging fanatics. We posted a write up with more information here.

Farmhouse Fantome Release at Trinity
Friday July 20 / 5pm
At Trinity Brewing / 1466 Garden of the Gods Way
From the brewery: Our brewer has been in loose contact with Dany Prignon of the world famous Saison Fantôme. Through this contact we've learned a few secrets about how Fantôme is brewed. Maybe we used some in this recipe of Farmhouse, or maybe we didn't...Okay we DID! We aren't going to say what those secrets are but we will say this Farmhouse was brewed with both strawberries and sweet potatoes! 6.5% ABV
