Springs Brew News: Test Taps, Space Beer, Iron Bird opens and more

For events, this week has a few things not to miss. From a space beer festival this weekend to brand spanking new beers at Fieldhouse to a new brewery opening, there's enough to keep anyone's social calendar stocked! 

Tuesday, August 12

 Bristol Brewing's Karma Hour supports Restore Innocence, a nonprofit organization that helps victims of child trafficking. One dollar from each pint sold between 5-9 is going to the organization. 

Wednesday, August 13

 1614050_600252980050826_1956063986_o (1)Fieldhouse Brewing (521 S Tejon) is hosting their first "Test Tap Wednesday." They'll be tapping a brand new beer every week on Wednesdays at 5pm. Each beer is brewed in a very small batch, so once its gone, its gone. This week check out their Cherry Wheat. Another fun addition is that the Global Grub Truck will be preparing an entree that pairs with each beer.  

Thursday, August 14

 Fieldhouse Brewing is hosting live music, and this week they have The Tejon Street Corner Thieves from 6-8pm. Head over and hope they still have some Cherry Wheat on tap... 

Saturday, August 16

On the corner of Costilla and Nevada, they've tapped the awesome design skills of Ryan Lloyd of Echo Architecture (Manitou Brewing, Wild Goose, The Machine Shop), and the place is looking super! They're planning on opening the doors at noon with a food truck on site and plenty of beer, so it's sure to be a good time! Look out later this week for our preview!10547491_10152344500181896_7343813380145601524_nRocket in my Beer FestivalSporting tons of local breweries (and a bar?) the Space Foundation's Rocket in my Beer Festival is sure to please any beer lover. Purchase of a $24 bracelet gets you into the beer tasting and includes one complimentary admission to the Discovery Center. Beer Drinkers Guide to Colorado will be on hand, answer questions and show you why space technology makes better beer. Learning and drinking are always a great combination! Edelweiss' Paulaner Biergarten Festival

Edelweiss Restaurant will be hosting the Paulaner Biergarten Festival on august 16 and 17th starting at 12 noon each day. Join them for an authentic german festival as the Paulaner truck sets up a true biergarten in their parking lot. Enjoy bratwursts, pretzels, festival food, games, prizes, live music and so much more. The festival is this Saturday and Sunday at edelweiss restaurant located at 34 east ramona ave. Proceeds benefit the Rocky Mountain Highway. Call 633-2220 for more info.
