Springs Brew News: Storybook Opening, White Chocolate Wheat, Turkey Day and more

We're fully into the holiday swing of things, and I hope you're all ready for a slightly slower week in our fair town for beer. If you missed it, we'd like to further congratulate Trinity Brewing for continuing to put Colorado Springs on the map nationally with their wins at FoBab! Without further ado, here's what's going on in this week's Springs Brew News. As we hear of anything, and recover from our Turkey induced comas, we'll keep you updated on fun things that may be happening this weekend...

Tuesday

Storybook Brewing is opening at 4pm! That's right, you may not have heard of them, but there is a new brewery on the scene here in Colorado Springs. We had a chance to stop in before today's opening date, and we think they'll make a wonderful addition to the beer scene here! Check out that preview here.

Wednesday

Fieldhouse Brewing continues their test taps with another oddly delicious sounding treat. Talking with Travis the other night, he told us that it was a White Chocolate Wheat, which we instantly thought was going to be a lighter colored beer. He assured us the only white color is what is in the chocolate. If you're trying to escape family on Wednesday, go ahead and check them out. They'll also have Treehouse BBQ there as usual we'd assume.

Thursday

Thanksgiving. Eat all you can. Enjoy time with family and friends.

Friday

Friday at noon is the Black Friday Chilly Water Baltik Porter Release at Trinity Brewing! This style is a bottom fermented lager traditionally brewed in Northern Europe. It is then aged in Stranahan's Whiskey barrels and comes in at around 8.5% ABV.Nano 108 releases their Black IPA for Black Friday. Get out of the shopping centers and head to a brewery!Brewer's Republic has a Uinta Brewing tapping. Word is that they have glassware for the first bunch of pints sold, so drag yourself off the couch and head in for a pint! Upcoming news:Fossil just announced their release of the Crafters' Festival favorite, Chocolate Blonde.
