A Storybook Beginning: Grand Opening Tomorrow

You might not have guessed it, but there's another brewery primed to call Colorado Springs home. Our area has become a hotbed for new breweries, with Nano 108, Fieldhouse, Fossil, Iron Bird and Manitou Brewing all popping up within the past 12 months. With little fanfare or notice, Storybook Brewing will open its doors to the public tomorrow evening at 4pm. Located in the light industrial district of N. El Paso St just north of Fillmore, they have some spectacular views of Pikes Peak as well as Flanagan park flanking them to the east. We stopped in this past Saturday to talk with Pete Kilman, as well as find out a little more about them.Photo courtesy of Storybrook BrewingThe name Storybook comes from an music album that Kilman himself wrote, by the suggestions of both his wife and daughter. We joked that when you have two strong-willed women agree on the same thing, there's not much you can do about it. So the name stuck, and with the help of family and friends, Storybook Brewing became a reality. Armed with a 3 barrel system and 15 years of homebrewing experience, Storybook's beer is in good hands. Their current plan includes focusing on old styles while also being open to experiment with new hops and other ingredients. For tomorrow's soft/grand opening, Storybook Brewing will have 5 different beers on tap tonight, with a 6th tap pouring a nitro version as well. Their Irish red was awesome, rich and malty but also with enough balance from the english style hops they used.We hope you'll come on out and help welcome the newest Colorado Springs brewery to town. Here's how to find them:[flexiblemap address="3121 N El Paso St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907" region="US" directions="true"]Storybook BrewingGrand Opening • 4pm3121A North El Paso StColorado Springs, CO 80907
