Pikes Peak Brewing hires new brewer

Pikes Peak Brewing just celebrated the start of their fifth year in business. To keep up with the high demand for their beer, PPBC has taken some big steps to ensure you can get it anywhere in the state of Colorado. The brewery has recently purchased 3 new tanks, including new 40 bbl and 20bbl fermenters, raising their brewing capacity by a whopping 54%! They'll need to produce more in the coming months, as they've just inked a deal with Western Distributing Company to bring all of their beer to every corner of the state. To help fill the tanks, Chris tells us they've hired a new full time brewer.Coming to Pikes Peak Brewing from the UC Davis Extension Master Brewing Program is Alan Windhausen. From what we can find via the Internet, Windhausen, a Boulder-area native, has a Bachelor's in Chemistry from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and has had stints at Wynkoop and Hangar 24 before Pikes Peak. They're formally introducing him today at the brewery following the Monument parade. Happy 4th of July!
