Drink Local: Week of April 4, 2016

The winter slumber is over! It's summer, so that means it's time for more events! Every Monday, starting today, we'll give you a heads up on where you need to be! We'll cover our picks for events here in Colorado Springs, but we'll always include one event that's a bit farther away.Up this week, we've got some fun beer releases, a cornhole tournament and a new distillery opening! Here's our picks for the week:

Wednesday:

Fieldhouse Brewing Test Tap Wednesday | 5pm

For Fieldhouse, April is Gose month."That means it’s time for you to gose on down Fieldhouse for Test Tap Wednesday! We are gettin’ crazy with our gose brews and using different kinds of salts in each one. The first week is a Lime Gose brewed with lime peel and lime salt. Treehouse BBQ will be here with dinner for you, so come hungry!"

Cornhole Tournament | 5pm

So, if Fieldhouse is packed, head down Colorado to Front Range for a free Cornhole Tournament thanks to New Belgium and Upslope Brewing!"Free cornhole tournament co-sponsored by New Belgium Brewing and Upslope Brewing!

Teams of two, games begin at 5:30pm, winners will receive a prize pack from New Belgium Brewing and Upslope Brewing Company. Specialty beers available at 5:30 also! Live music at 7:30pm. Come play, drink, hangout, and buy some sweet UpaDowna swag!"

Mexican Logger Release in Durango | 5pm

Also, if you find yourself taking an early vacation to the Southwest this week, Ska Brewing is releasing Mexican Logger this Wednesday!"Join Ska Brewing Wednesday, April 6th for the much anticipated release of summer’s favorite beverage! Live music from Durango’s Carute Roma! Parking will be very limited – Please ride your bike!"

Saturday:

Cockpit Craft Distillery Grand Opening | 11 am

"Bottles of our very own whiskey and rum will be available for tasting and for sale."

Prohibition Party at Bristol Brewing | 6pm

"Yellow Kite Summer Pils will be released at the annual repeal of prohibition party Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 6-9 pm. The seasonal brew will be available for only 33 cents per pint in honor of the year Prohibition was repealed, 1933.  The costume-and-password-required speakeasy recaptures the 1930’s era and toasts the 82nd anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition."We're working hard to have our calendar feature the best craft beverage events in Colorado Springs and beyond, but we need your help!
