14er Brewing Company Opens July 1

If you’re looking for a new beer spot this weekend, take a trip over to 14er Brewing Company in Denver. The 2016 GABF gold-medal winning brewery is finally setting up shop in the RiNo neighborhood this weekend. While the taproom won’t be completely finished, and full permitting is still in the works, you can get crowler fills and beer-to-go. They’ll definitely have Mt. Massive, a hop forward and juicy IPA, and Rocky Mountain Saison, the 2016 GABF Gold Medal winning chili beer available. They’ll also have a guava-puree tropical beer named Maroon Bells that is “uniquely crushable” as their slogan states. Also available is the Double Mt. Massive, an 8.3% IPA with 73 IBUs. A brand new coffee IPA named Sunshine Peak will be available (I’m excited for this one), and a Key lime pie cream ale for those 90+ degree days we’ve been having.14er Brewing has a wholesale license, which means they’ll serve you beer as tasters in the taproom, but their purpose is to get you into nature with a beer or two of theirs.

It’s a little different concept than the usual “taproom” opening.

14er Brewing is focusing on getting people in their doors to try the beers, then purchasing a crowler or cans to go, and heading back outdoors. Making great beer is one thing, but 14er Brewing is going one step further and really taking their namesake to heart. They have committed 1% of all their sales as a donation to the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative. If you didn't already know it, The Colorado Fourteeners Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the natural integrity of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks through active stewardship and public education. Talk about putting your money (read: beer) where your mouth is.
