Here's the Pour List for Rapids and Grass
This weekend is the Third iteration of Buena Vista’s premier beer and music festival and we’ve got the beers.
Spend your weekend nestled amongst 14,000-foot peaks along the Arkansas River, sampling beers from more than 50 breweries and jamming to live bluegrass music at the Rapids & Grass Beer Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado. The 3rd Annual festival is set for Friday, June 28 to Sunday, June 30, 2019 with the beer tasting on Saturday, June 29th.
“This uniquely Colorado weekend is a blend of all things we love about our state: mountain living, craft beer, bluegrass music, and river sports,” says Rapids & Grass Festival Director Sarah Stewart.
The 2019 brewery lineup features some of the best breweries in Colorado, the intermountain west, and beyond. See the full list below but expect to see the likes of Beachwood Brewing, Two Roads, La Cumbre, WeldWerks, Outer Range, Black Project, Cannonball Creek, Comrade, and many more.
Live music will kick off on Friday night at The Beach stage along the Arkansas River with Head for the Hills headlining. Bluegrass bands will be performing throughout the beer tasting on Saturday, culminating with Rapidgrass as the headliner that evening. This year’s festival will once again incorporate After Party Shows in the Ivy Ballroom at the Surf Hotel. Tickets for the Ivy Ballroom shows must be purchased separately from Rapids & Grass Beer Festival tickets, through the Surf Hotel website. Bands will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We are excited to welcome back Colorado’s own Head For The Hills. They will be coming off a fresh album release!” says Mark Morris, Music Coordinator for Rapids & Grass Beer Festival. “We are also excited about welcoming the exquisite vocal harmonies of Lovers Leap from Asheville, NC.”
After a great day of craft beer and bluegrass music, sleep under the stars with a variety of camping options located a quick walk away from the festival venue. A new grassy camping area features walk-in tent sites with gorgeous views to the Collegiate Peaks. New this year is Riverside VIP camping for both tents and RVs.

The 2019 Rapids & Grass Beer Festival will come to a close with the Freedom Float on Sunday, June 30th. This 7-mile raft trip through Class 3 Whitewater is an experience not to be missed. Meet the River Runners crew at the festival venue, cruise through the Milk Run, and take out just in time for more riverside live music and drinks on the beach at Riverside Grill.
Tickets for the Rapids & Grass Beer Festival will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. MST on Friday, March 22nd. Attendees can choose from a number of ticketing options including GA Beer Tasting ($50) and VIP Beer Tasting ($75) that gets you early access to unlimited tastings and specialty beers only available during the VIP session, plus a special acoustic picking session from Rapidgrass.
Chaffee County locals will be able to purchase discounted General Admission tickets ($40) from Friday, March 22 through Friday, April 5th. To purchase, bring a Chaffee County ID to The Jailhouse Craft Beer Bar at 412 E. Main St. in Buena Vista. This deal is only available to Chaffee County residents.
