Red Leg's New Purpose-Built 2.5 Acre Brewery Opens July 28th

It’s only been a few weeks since Todd Baldwin wore the “SOON” shirt to Red Leg Brewing’s anniversary, and they’re ready to open their massive new brewery to the public. Expect a few more Red Leg surprises beyond just the opening, though we’re not ready to spoil those just yet. ;)

Not to be confused with the Bar Rescue-famous Garrison Tavern, where The Bench (RIP) currently sits, Red Leg’s The Garrison will be the premiere multi-functional space in the Springs, with everything from beer to bikes to burgers available!

Here’s their press release about the opening as well as some provided images of the new property! Our writeup on the space will come on Friday. -Ryan

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - (July 16, 2021)– Red Leg Brewing Company, a veteran-owned brewery headquartered in Colorado Springs, is set to open their new and expanded facility to the public, Wednesday, July 28 in Colorado Springs at 2323 Garden of the Gods Road.

The 14,000 square-foot airplane hangar-style facility and mixed-use complex will include a taproom with 20 beers on tap as well as wine and cider selections, a rooftop deck and bar with panoramic views, and an outdoor beer garden that will offer a seamless transition from the interior of the building to the exterior for year-round use.

While the interior space can facilitate up to 1,000 people, the exterior area can comfortably entertain up to 876 and is complemented by ambient string patio lights, imported German beer garden tables and benches, a bike rack, corn hole games, a turf area where activities like yoga can be enjoyed and an outdoor stage for entertainment and live music near the complex’s shipping container structures, known as The Garrison.

The Garrison, which should be fully operational by Fall 2021, will house local businesses and restaurants that guests can enjoy, including: Nekter Juice, Criterium Bicycles, Sasquatch Cookies, Oliver’s Deli, Public House Burger Concept “PH Burger Bunker Bar”, TacoQ by the Warehouse and Red Leg Wine and Spirits.

To my knowledge, what we’re doing has not been done before in our community. We are a local business that is opening the first purpose-built brewery in the city from the ground up that will also support other local businesses and artists in the same complex.
— Todd Baldwin, president and founder of Red Leg Brewing Company

“While Red Leg has been operational in this community for nearly a decade, this is an expansion that we are beyond excited to bring to the Springs and an opportunity to showcase other amazing local businesses and entertainers in The Garrison area as our community partners. While we will continue to ship our beer to military installations across the country, this new location and expansion is going to provide locals and visitors a prime destination where they can stop-in for a refreshing beer, enjoy live entertainment, savor delicious food, and relax in a welcoming atmosphere with some amazing views,” said Baldwin.

While continuing to offer their flagship beers like the Prospector’s Pick Kolsch, Helo Hefeweizen, Howitzer Amber Ale, and Hazy IPA, Red Leg's new facility will enable them to produce 341,000 gallons of craft beer annually equating to 22,000 kegs or 151,580 cases. The vastness of the expansion will also create approximately 75 new jobs for the Pikes Peak Region and will be open daily from 12 p.m. - 10 p.m. For more information, visitRedLegBrewing.com.
