Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales Launches Line of Canned Beers
Spontaneous brewery to release three different variations of 16oz cans Friday, September 20
Denver, CO - September 6, 2019 - Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales, who specializes in coolship ales and innovation in the development of spontaneous fermentation, has announced it will release three different cans this month, in the format of 16oz four packs.
DAGGER, MAGIC LANTERN & SHADOW FACTORY are the first three cans to take flight from Black Project, all three heavily fruited, spontaneously captured, solera ales made with 100% wheat base.
Black Project is excited to reveal cans with spontaneously caught microbes to the public. Owner and Blender James Howat said, “To our knowledge, there’s no other true wild captured spontaneous microbe beer in cans on the market in Denver.”
The fruit varieties will rotate from batch to batch, but Black Project aims to make cans a regular offering. Fruits included in the first batch of SHADOW FACTORY are Blackberry & Raspberry. MAGIC LANTERN is lightly salted with Peach, Apricot & Passionfruit. DAGGER is typically a mix of second-use fruits from both SHADOW FACTORY & MAGIC LANTERN. Second-use fruits in the first batch of DAGGER include Peach, Blackberry & Raspberry.
MAGIC LANTERN & SHADOW FACTORY have been staples in the Black Project tasting room for nearly four years and the brewery receives several requests per day regarding options available to go. “It’s long overdue for SHADOW FACTORY & MAGIC LANTERN to be released in to-go format. Some iterations of these beers are our highest rated/most sought after offerings, and it is with great happiness that we are able to give people what they want, in the format they want,” Buck added.
ABOUT BLACK PROJECT SPONTANEOUS & WILD ALES
Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales is the passion project of James Howat, owner and blender; of what was formerly Former Future Brewing Company. The brewery began production in January 2014 and won two bronze medals and one silver medal for their coolship ales (Category: Experimental, Subcategory: Wild Ales) at The Great American Beer Festival in 2014, 2015, and 2017. We are meticulous about designing recipes and processes that will allow nature to take over and create beers unrivaled in their beauty and complexity. Through experimentation and research, we are continuously developing new and different techniques for use with wild and spontaneous fermentation.
