Representative Saison Wins Hop the Vote at the Great American Beer Festival

If you were at the Great American Beer Festival this past weekend, you may have ventured over to the various guild booths to sample some awesome regional breweries. If you stopped by Colorado's, you probably voted for your favorite Colorado-represented beer.It was a tight race, but in the end, Denver Beer Co. and the House of Representatives pulled out this narrowly contested competition. Colorado House of Representatives and Denver Beer Co. collaborationreceives bragging rights and medal

DENVER - Oct. 4, 2014 - Representative Saison claimed the title of Hop the Vote winner at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. Presented by the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG), Hop the Vote is a spirited but friendly brewing competition held between the Colorado State House of Representatives and the Colorado State Senate.“Beer plays a vital role in the Colorado economy and this competition shows just how much support our state government has of small businesses,” said Chris Holbert, State Representative Colorado House District 44. “Thank you to the Colorado Brewers Guild for bringing Democrats and Republicans together from the House and Senate in support of brewers state-wide. It was a great event and Colorado is truly the state of craft beer.”Denver Beer Co. and the Colorado State House of Representatives created Representative Saison, a hoppy saison made with Citra and whole leaf Simcoe hops and Belgian characteristics. When described by the team, Representative Saison is the reason why Colorado is the state of craft beer.The team consisted of Dan Pabon, Chris Holbert, Jonathan Singer, Polly Lawrence, Spencer Swalm, Joann Ginal, Beth McCann, Kim Ransom, Kevin Van Winkle, Angela Williams, Bob Rankin and Patrick Neville.The 2014 Hop the Vote competition winner was selected by 894 GABF attendees.
